He is a mutant.

He was a slave before, how he became to look the way he did. He was part of the underground fighting ring, but not as a fighter- as the bait. He was used to rile up the fighter for an upcoming opponent- so he's quite beat up.... poor kid.

His powers are a form of psycokenesis- he's powerful enough to control individual atoms- tearing things apart and also combining thwm. He doesn't know how to combine them as well as tear them apart. But he's afraid of his own powers so he allowed himself to be beat upon in the fighting ring instead of using his powers to defend himself. He was quite traumatized at the age of 12, when he and his older sister ( Petunia) came home to find his parents had been shot by some gang or something- and were still in the house and they attacked him and his sister- who was 15 at the time. He watched- or they made him watch- as they beat her and ravished her. They then beat him too, into unconsciousness. When he awoke, he'd been shanghaied and sold into slavery. He had no idea what had happened to his sister and hasn't seen her since.
