I was looking at some unicorn art through dA and saw this WIP of this awesome unicorn that the artist didn't finish. I loved the dynamic look of the picture and was inspired! This is obviously a wip still... lol. Of the same charrie from the other picture- Midnight.

I used a photo ref though for the anatomy and the actual angle. So far, it's looking good... I think. xDD;;

Beautiful pose, love the action of it!
The only thing I could say, if you would like some critique, is that the neck looks a little short and the ribcage a little too narrow. I'd just recommend either raising the head a little or dropping the front legs slightly.
I'm really excited to see how this turns out though, I can see that its going to be divine!

WOW! my sketches and all looks nothing like that! its amazing what you did! it blends really well with the color of the background; cause you didn't make the color of the lines so apart from the black it looks really good ^^; anyway, whatever I'm saying, I like it, so there!

The photo I used it from is angled more of a frontal shot, so the neck should be foreshortened. I do realize the legs are off and the neck could use more help. I don't know if it's so much that the neck is short as that the head needs to move more to the right to help with the foreshortening... cx The legs were that high because the shot was of a horse jumping. lol.
But yeah, thanks muchly for the pointings out! I did it rather late last night, so there's definitely room for improvment. I appreciates the crit. =)

Well, it started out far more sketchy under the coloring. Actually did the sketchy like coloring after I did the basic sketch of the horse. If you look carefully, you can see remnants of the purple outlining.. but I erased it mostly. xB Was trying more painting like, so no layers but one. =)

I was looking at the picture here against the photo ref, and I can now see how it's short now. I shall work on that. =)

I'd glad it helped a bit, sorry for being critical, I just know that I love it when I get some constructive criticism, especially on a WIP. But I really cant wait to see this finished, the colouring and shading that you've already started looks divine!

good decision to change the pose, this looks very dynamic! just wondering if this is a cut, or the full image? just think the hooves and tail and wings need to be in there fully :)
